We love you Tony Stark ! More than you will ever know !
Reader's alert.
1. It does have End Game spoilers. Don't read if you haven't watched it yet.
2. Whenever I mention Tony Stark it refers to Robert Downey Jr. and vice versa. One cannot refer to them separately.
3. I am going with the flow and not even reading it back. Hence ignore the grammatical glitches if any here and there.
So this it, isn't it? It's the End Game and which refers to the end of it all. I watched it yesterday and I can come up with a separate write up about the movie and the experience it gave alone. It is by far the best Avenger movie and probably ranks up along with the best superhero movie of all time.
This is not about the movie though. This is about that one man who has carried Marvel Cinematic Universe all along. Tony Stark aka RDJ himself. Purely based on comics Ironman wasn't as a celebrated character as Batman or Bruce Wayne. But what RDJ represented gave life to Tony Stark and made us fall over time and again.
Remember the first Ironman movie, the best thing I love about him is that whatever technology that he uses was created or re-created by himself and he is not buying it like gadgets from outside. A Self-made superhero, who initially for works his own need and then turns out to be "the one' for the bigger cause. It's the arrogance that comes along with the genius that makes him special. And that scene where he says "I am Ironman" is all for money.
Why Tony Stark is the greatest superhero in the MCU? Let's take the first Avengers movie heroes alone to compare as they have been the longest-lived ones. Thor is a GOD by himself, Clint and Natasha are excellent level-headed warriors, and you know HULK is HULK after all. It all comes down to Tony and Steve Rogers always. Even if we take all the Avengers who came aftermath, there aren't better statesman than these two. We want our superhero to be the statesman, the leader, someone who possesses an ideology, don't we?
But Steve Rogers is impossible. One cannot be as perfect and as good as Steve in life. There has to be something. And that something, that flaw that Tony Stark had is what made us fall for him. And those flaws are what made him human. Yet, he is a superhero because he is a genius brain and it was all brain and because of that we love him more. With due respect to all Avengers heroes, if we have to pick one, it will always be Tony Stark. Any day. Any time.
The first two Ironman movies were all about him. About establishing himself amongst the fans and MCU itself. After the Avengers #1 movie, Tony was always about the bigger cause, bigger reason than himself. Ironman-III was essential to put an end to the self demons he had created and to look at the bigger picture alone from there on.
Until EndGame, my biggest love for Tony Stark was in the Civil War. The evolution of Tony Stark's character from Ironman to Civil war is something else. When he stands against his own team to keep themselves at check because they are human and they serve to the human society itself. That is something we might expect from Captain America who lived by rules all along. Not from a certain Tony Stark who was the first one to break the protocols every time.
What came aftermath was even better, the Tony we saw in Spiderman-Homecoming was all love and responsible. Like he himself says, "Gosh I sound like my dad". That relationship between Peter Parker and Tony was one of the best in MCU. From there to losing the kid in Infinity war to Thanos, that was actually the proof that Tony Stark has a heart rather than just the disabled Arc-reactor.
There are definitely bigger Ironman fans out there. I am too one among them for sure. In whatever way, I can use or have Tony in day-to-day life. I have tried it along the way. I have a couple of t-shirts, a cap, another memento gifted by my sister as well. I love Tony Stark and every bit of him. Recently there was a live video conference to 4 cities in India. I had a day out with my friend after almost a decade. She was there sitting next to me and talking to me, but I was drooling over the Instagram live of RDJ and messaging VJ Abishek Raja about it as he was the host. His first reaction was almost synonyms with how myself or every other fan in India would have reacted. I was so happy as if I was the host or was there to see you in live conference video. Tony Stark, we Love You.
Now, let's get back to the End Game. When you said "a part of the journey is the end" in the trailer, I was taken aback. It had to be you in the end. It cannot be Captain Marvel who we saw last month. Thanos was your demon. I didn't think of the consequences. But I badly wished that it was you rather than Captain Marvel doing it. After 11 years, it was bound to be. But when Thor went for his head fifteen minutes into the movie, we had no idea what is bound to unfold.
Then when you people went back to take the Infinity stones, it cannot be that easy as it looked like. But then, the madness unfolded. The second 90 minutes of the movie was all madness by every inch.
As Thanos came back and things looked like falling apart, Captain Marvel came to the rescue. Now again, I went mad. "Please let it be anyone else other than her. The Avengers deserved a better ending" were the thoughts going on in my mind.
But when you asked Strange whether this is that one time he foresaw, we knew it was going to be you who does it. We had no idea how, but we knew it was you. But when Thanos threw you away and snapped the finger, we were gone shit crazy. But when we saw the stones in your hand, we knew the ending that was bound to happen.
Trust me until that scene, it felt almost if the theatre was getting grounded. There were six screens and all were playing the same movie. Ever since the dead ones came back, the entire public was going berzerk screaming all the way without a minute gap until that scene. Until we saw the stones in your hand. Everyone there knew the end by then. From that very moment to the completion of end credits, there was pin drop silence.
You made me cry. You made every single fan in the theatre cry. Tears kept rolling down until the credits start rolling and once it got over, the theatre officials had to come in and say there's no end credits scene. Because we wanted to pull off one last surprise for us also. Yet it wasn't the case.
To come out and think that there is no more Tony Stark, the pain was huge. Yet, it was your destiny. I am so so glad that it was you who put an end to Thanos. It could have been anyone else, but you deserved this farewell. Just as I type so even after a day I watched it, tears swell up in my eyes. And I will be watching this Epic movie as many as I can until this feeling sinks in. I hope it never does.
Dear Russo brothers, thank you for this. Thank you for making END GAME the best superhero movie of all time. It took so much to tip off Dark Knight from that place and keep ENDGAME there.
I myself love Batman too. I have never been able to pick one between Bruce Wayne and Tony Stark. Not today. Not anymore. Thank you so so much for giving us this journey. If I had to pick one today or any day after tomorrow, it will always be Tony Stark.
Like you said Tony, a part of the journey is the end. But by the end of this journey, the love we have for you is immeasurable and there is no end to it. We love you RDJ! More than you will ever know!
PS- We love Morgan T. Stark 3000 too. And we will get her all the cheeseburgers she wants.

Robert Downey Jr. has carried the MCU on his shoulders all along.
